The Heliconia quilt is an intermediate pattern inspired by the tropical flowers of the same name. It makes use of strip piecing and curved piecing to create a bold, graphic wall hanging or quilt in four sizes - that’s right, FOUR SIZES! You can create a Wall Hanging, Baby, Throw, or Queen sized quilt.

Heliconia is rated as an intermediate pattern because it combines two techniques that might be new to a beginning quilter - strip piecing and curved piecing. However, I provide tips, detailed instructions, and diagrams, so I think this could be a great skill builder for a confident beginner!
