Hardcore Holiday Quilt Block Pattern
Are you tired of traditional cutesy holiday decor? Yearning for something modern and a little edgy? Look no further! The pattern’s candy cane striped bars will bring some holiday cheer to your living space, without destroying your street cred.
Whether you choose to create a pillow cover (shown below) or a wall hanging, this dynamic design will transform any space, providing a bold alternative to the tried and tired norms of holiday trimmings.
I absolutely love how this came out using Libs Elliott’s Atomic fabrics for the black & white, and Giucy Giuce Spectrastatic in Mars is the perfect deep red. I got all of these fabrics from Mashe Modern - they shipped super fast!
The pattern is a quick project - even if you’ve never done Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) before! I’ve provided lots of step by step diagrams and helpful tips, and I’ve got a video tutorial linked in the pattern as well. It’s fat quarter friendly, too!
I also mocked up a couple versions with green backgrounds - here are some moodier (Kona) and peppier (AGF) options!
Step away from the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary with this punk rock twist on traditional holiday decor!
